Commercial Architectural Photography of David Shaw Furniture

Commercial Architectural Photography of David Shaw Furniture, Christchurch

Client: Stufkens + Chambers Architects

All of our architectural photography shoots require a discerning attention to detail.  The shoot at the David Shaw furniture showroom was no different.  With so many elements on the shop floor coming into play we had to be fastidious about how everything in the showroom was looking.

From the exterior we had to deal with a downpour that came at the optimum time to shoot the exterior, when the ambient light and the shop’s illumination were beautifully matched.  Working with what we were given I created an image that captured the reflection from the warm interior lights.

Marcus Stufkens and his team took the brief for a warehouse and created something special.  We photographed both the exterior and the interior of the building as we wanted to show the context of the building within its surrounds and also feature the entrance, the office space, the cafeteria and the conference room.

Commercial Architectural Photography – Ford Baker

Commercial Architectural Photography of Ford Baker Offices

Client: Tower Joinery

Neil Haymes and the team from Tower Joinery completed a renovation of the office space for Ford Baker.  The modern blend of metals and wood resulted in a clean cut contemporary workspace for Ford Baker and we were tasked with photographing it.

Real Estate Photography

Client: Harcourts | Sophie and Simon

Sophie and Simon bought and renovated a beautiful home in Christchurch.  When it came time to sell, they believed their home deserved to be shown off at its best and were willing to invest in getting high quality photography, so they got in touch.  For high end real estate photography we utilise our architectural photography skillset and apply it to these high end homes, helping the owners attract the right buyers and achieve the sale price their home deserves.

Quality timber combines with tasteful modern design to deliver a splendid kitchen environment.  The deep tones in the wood grain needed to be featured so a series of exposures were shot for each image and combined in postproduction to ensure all of the detail was captured.

Crisp kitchen design is showcased here in a previously photographed architectural project.  We originally shot this beautiful residential architectural home for Laing Construction and then were hired to re-photograph the space focussing on the feature kitchen.

Satisfying the brief for in an architectural photography shoot is quite different from undertaking a commission from an interior designer or a kitchen designer.  The fact that I needed to revisit the space to reshoot it from a different point of view is a good example of this.

Kitchen Photography – Christchurch Award Winner

We were proud to assist kitchen designer, Kirsty Davis, take out the Master Joiner 2012 Award for the Best Kitchen.  We believe that when you have a showcase project that you want to show off at awards or to future clients it is a disservice to your work if it’s not photographed at its best by a professional.

The strong contrast within this cutting edge kitchen design is not straight forward to photograph. I concentrated on lighting the shoot in such a way that I could showcase detail in both the highlights and the blacks whilst retaining the crispness of this high contrast design.

Hagley Kitchen’s Kirsty Davis design always impress.  This kitchen phtography project concentrated on establishing the kitchen design elements within the environment of the home.  The use of differing materials used was also important to the kitchen designer so as with many of our shoots for interior designers / kitchen designers, we made sure to capture the details in the photos too.

Kitchen Photography – Small modern kitchen

Kitchen Photography

Client: Advanced Joinery

As this was such a small galley kitchen there was very little room for manoeuvrability.  Utilising a good choice of vantage point and an appropriately wide, yet non-distorting lens I was able to capture the space and relay the visual design elements for the kitchen designer.
